Dreaming Istanbul

These images are some of the paintings for Dreaming Istanbul, a film in seven episodes, directed by Gilles Blaize. The first episode is on YouTube (and in the blog). The other six are being edited. I painted them as a  commentary on the city, in free-association with the photograph, after drawing in the city for twenty days. Each one is the final stage of a stop-motion sequence, oil paint dubbed onto a photograph
